MATTERS ARISING: No luck with freezer. Will put ad in messenger to buy or borrow for the season. OK with the school as it will benefit them also. Kate will no longer be doing the U17 rep team due to personal circumstances.

Carolyn emailed NZ Auditors Assoc re our audit situation. At the conclusion of all the correspondence re this matter it looks as if Carolyn can get the end of year books up to date then an auditor must complete the process.

UMPIRES REPORT:

Pre Season Umpires report – 06/05/08

The season started off well with a Game in Action workshop held at Mount Aspiring College with Jono Bredin. This was held in conjunction with the MAC A & B trials. A session was held prior for Margo Ecroyd, Teresa Alexander, and Carolyn Hay to complete their fitness test for the season. An update was also given on the rule changes implemented by IFNA following the World Cup.

Theory lessons have been held for four local candidates preparing for their Regional Theory exams and the exam was sat last night. Good luck to all those girls for successful results.

Thanks to Teresa for completing the first round draw for me, which, due to personal circumstances, I could not do.

There will be a weeks grace for girls needing to sit centre theory due to school holidays.

PRIMARY GRADE REPORT:

Pauline reports that the draw is almost complete for games to begin on Saturday 10th May. There will be 12 teams. 6 per year group. Anne will be there to welcome everyone and to introduce Nicki Paterson and Jo Morrison from Netball Otago who will be doing the coaching session prior to games starting about 11am.

REPRESENTATIVE REPORT:

Accommodation has been booked for upcoming tournaments in Dunedin for U15 and U17. New uniforms have also been ordered for these girls. Will look at transport nearer the time and also transport for the South Otago tournament. There is an U14 in South Otago also.

GENERAL:

Sports working party meeting at 4pm. Will discus again the needs of what netball in Upper Clutha requires. Anne and Teresa to attend.

Mandy is to put an ad in Messenger for all rep coaches. This includes Yr 6, 7 & 8. U14, U15 U17.

Name selectors at next committee meeting. Teresa to approach Sally to see if she would be interested in doing this job again. We believe it is important for all to know who is doing the selecting in our area.

Congratulations to Abbie Ayre Rosie Thomson, Emily Wilson, Michelle Lewis,
Mandy Cooper, Lauren Kerr and Hannah Armstrong who attended a fantastic 4
day Netball Development Camp at Dunstan Highschool. The girls lived in with
53 other netballers from all over Otago and enjoyed a range of experiences
including, Team building, fitness, yoga, nutrition, line dancing, sports
physiology, massage and hours of netball coaching and games. The MAC girls
are pictured here with Janine Southby, Jo Morrison, Camille O'Conner and
Noeline Scott. Other coaches who worked with the girls were Georgina Salter,
Nic Jones and Trudie Marsh - The players were privileged to receive coaching
from this experienced line up of coaches who made the camp both challenging
and fun. One of the highlights was a guest appearance from Silver Fern Jodie
Brown and of course the camp concert.
